Radiesse wash – our new skin treatment that boosts collagen production and how it can be used to rejuvenate signs of ageing on the neck

We’re continuously updating our treatment portfolio to bring you the latest market-leading products under one roof.

Recently Dr Elle, Dr Chloe and Nurse Prescriber Annalise underwent training in Radiesse wash, here’s a little more about this amazing new treatment we’re adding to our offering:

Firstly, what is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a market-leading injectable product with over 20 years of scientific and clinical experience, and over 220 peer reviewed publications showing its safety and effectiveness, making it one of the world’s longest standing and clinically researched cosmetic injectables.

The product itself is a filler which activates the body’s natural processes to produce new collagen and elastin, which means you benefit from both the skin rejuvenating and contouring elements of this treatment.

How does Radiesse work?

Radiesse is composed of a defined range of tiny microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) suspended in a gel. The CaHA microspheres stimulate the body’s natural processes to produce new collagen and elastin. Over time, your body breaks down these tiny microspheres and the gel, leaving behind your own newly formed natural collagen.

How does Radiesse filler differ to Radiesse wash?

Radiesse wash is an advanced technique which involves hyper-diluting Radiesse with saline, making it a thinner product that can be injected under the skin, enabling it to be injected over a broader area as an anti-ageing skin treatment. This technique enhances the skin rejuvenating properties of Radiesse, improving the texture, quality, and overall appearance of the treated area. In contrast, when used in its undiluted form, Radiesse functions more effectively as a volumising facial filler.

Where and what can Radiesse wash treat?

Radiesse wash can be used to treat areas where the skin appears thin, crepey or dehydrated. It can reduce fine lines, improve sagging skin and enhance skin quality. It’s renowned for its fantastic results in treating the mid and lower face, neck, chest and hands.

Why does the neck age faster than other areas of the body?

The neck is such a delicate area that can show common signs of ageing before anywhere else on the body. This is due to a few reasons:

  1. The skin on the neck is thinner, has less collagen production and unfortunately is more prone to suffer from common skin concerns such as dryness.
  2. Constant movement. Our neck is one of our most used areas of the body, and with continuous movement we see more wrinkles forming, particularly more so now with modern day technology from looking down at our devices, also known as ‘tech neck’.
  3. It’s an area that is often overlooked when it comes to sun protection, with lack of SPF and medical grade skin care being applied in the area, this can make our faces appear younger whilst our neck continues to age.

So, focusing on the neck, what results can Radiesse wash achieve in this area?

As Radiesse wash is a collagen stimulating treatment, collagen induction takes time to produce, therefore when carrying out this treatment it’s important we wait at least three months to allow time for the collagen to produce and take effect before we review the results. Here’s an example of two Radiesse wash cases over the last three months:

Patient one below was first treated in July 2024, and these are the results from October 2024:

As you can see throughout the three months collagen production has become visible and in turn has dramatically improved both patient’s skin qualities. Fine lines and vertical wrinkles that have appeared as part of the natural ageing process have been reduced and the skin has improved its elasticity, reducing any sagginess, making the patient’s necks look more youthful. What’s more, this treatment is only required every 12 months, making maintenance treatments less hassle.

Can Radiesse wash be used alongside other treatments?

Yes, Radiesse wash is great to use in combination with other collagen boosting treatments. In fact, it’s well-known for its ability to reduce wrinkles and skin crepiness when combined with energy devices such as High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU).
